AREA MINUTES

MINUTES OF THE AREA MEETING HELD JUNE 7TH 2008 AT THE SUNDERLAND RNA CLUB.

The Chairman opened the meeting at 1330hrs and hoped that we would have a productive meeting.

He then asked all present to be upstanding for the Silent Tribute especially for those who have recently Crossed the Bar.

S/M Stan Blakelock and S/M Harvey Blackburn Durham City Branch.

Delegates Present 18 requiring a 2/3rds majority i.e. 15.

APOLOGIES.

Were received from F.Chambers.J.Duke.M.Taylor.Darlington.Hull.Wetherby.and Scarborough Branches.

welcome.

S/M L.Walker Chairman Sunderland Branch welcomed
the delegates to Sunderland Branch and wished them a successful meeting stating that it was a pleasure for us all to be there.He also wanted to make it clear that Sunderland are not in the
process of selling up contrary to rumours that are going round.

MINUTES OF THE PREVIOUS MEETING.

The Minutes of the last meeting having been read
were proposed by the Tyne Branch and seconded by
Durham City Branch and passed as a true record.

MATTERS ARISING.

S/M D.Pointon asked about the annual raffle for
Area Funds from Branches,asked when do we have to hold them?
The Branch Raffles for Area Funds are held at their discretion.
Some Branches however have made donations instead
of holding a raffle.

OFFICIALS REPORTS.

Area Presidents Report on Presidents Page.

The Chairman Reported that he had little to report but he had been to a dinner on HMS Trincomalee.and that he and the President were going on a trip to HQ.

The Secretaryreported that he did not have much to report and that he also had been to a Dinner
on HMS Trincomalee.

The Treasurer reported there had not been a great
change in the Area F currently £? in the interest
account,£? in the currant account and that we had
received capitation of £?.for the actual figures
see your Delegate.
He also reported on the Area Calendars have three designes this year and if orders are sent in by August that they should be available at the
September Meeting.An advert has been put on the

Welfare Advisor position vacant.
The Secretary reported that there have been no
welfare issues.

PRO position vacant.
The Secretary reported that there have been no
PRO issues.

Parade Marshall nothing to report.

Area Standard Bearer's report on own page.
S/M Marie Taylor is at the National Standard Bearers Competition and we wish her well and good luck.

BUSINESS.

S/M Terry Halder reported that next year the National Conferance is in Londonderry and the
following year France Nord and that we might give
some thought as to how we get there, would it be
possible to book charter travel from the Area.
Any Idea's welcome.

The Secretary reported that donations to the Area
Funds have been received from Driffield,Durham City,Huddersfield,Sunderland,Tyne and Wetherby
Branches.

S/M J.Venables reported that their Veterans Day
is to be held 6th July 2008 at Newbiggin by The Sea and that a mini tattoo is also being held and
that this year Govemment funding has been cut by
half.

S/M J.Tubman reported that Tyne Branch are holding their 60th Anniversary Dinner on 25th July 2008 at the Newcastle Companions Club.

S/M Ron Dibble Area Webmaster asked that all events are passed to him fot inclusion on the Area Website.
He didn't think it would cost much and it may be better for a joint magazine rather than let the
Lookout fade away.

ANY OTHER BUSINESS.

The Secretary read out the currant ship forecast
and members wanting details should contact him
after the meeting.

The Chairman thanked the Sunderland Branch for
their hospitality and bar staff for their service.

CLOSURE OF MEETING.

There being no further business,the Chairman
thanked all for their attention he then closed
the meeting at 1412hrs.

Next Area Meeting at Stockton 6th September 2008.
