Standard Bearer's Dit.

AREA 11 STANDARD BEARERS REPORT
Held at Mexborough on 12th December 2009.
S/M President, Chairman, Delegates & Shipmates.
On Sunday 6th September I attended the Church Service and Parade for the 8th Destroyer Association, unfortuantly due to my having to return to York for some equipment I had left behind,I arrived whilst the service was in progress, however,I did manage to do the Dip at the end of the service and Parade the Standard down to the Spa.I returned to York at a slower pace than earlier,Then on 12th September I travelled down to London to take part in the Royal Naval Bi-Annual Parade. On reaching Horsegaurd Parade through the road works we were told that the parade would be the opposite way round than normal. The Parade led by The Royal Marine Band marched proudly to the Cenetaph where a service and wreath laying ceremony took place,we then continued to march round to the Civil Service Club where the Rum ration was dispenced, everyone who took part thoroughly enjoyed the Parade and I was extremely proud of representing The Royal Naval Association so aptly.
This Shipmates concludes my report.
